the Mankeh!

For those of you that are not aware of the phenomenon that is Manky, let me explain: A long time ago, on a C64 site not that far away, Omega120 arrived in his supercharged Pro Action Replay (v6) Star Destroyer and fired to all members on the site, via the mini-chat, links to his new games that he had been working on. Again. and again. and again...............and again!

The users that frequented this site (myself included) started to drop the word 'Manky' and 'Toilet' and any other associated words into the minichat, in general phrases to game titles. It was great fun and became quite an in-joke of the regulars. For the sake of everyone's sanity at the time, Omega120 was banned for his shameless self promotion of his games (Manky, Mr Wong, Mr Pilic) - and he seemed to vanish for a while.

Level 2? That means there is life after the Toilet!

Upon the launch of breadbin64, Omega120 was directed here by some members from Lemon - and in full credit to Omega120, he did apologise for his past antics of heavy duty self promotion, and for that I take my hat off to him (if only I wore one!) and it is good to have him on board. So, the main reason of this is to announce that Omega120 has launched a new version of Manky, and they appear to have some nice switched in there to turn off the collision between object (I need to reinstall my emulator after writing this to play Smile ). I have always been highly critical of the jump routine in Manky, but I am hoping that this has been rectified - the author assures me that he is making changes to it, so at least he is going in the right direction and listening to the players of his games.

Teh Mankeh Returns!

Everytime I see one of Omega120's games, it always reminds me of being very young and playing a title from Firebird, such as Booty....and that's not really a bad thing. OK, the game has been in development for a long time, but I guess we all have a life away from the computer!

If you want to try Manky or any other of his games, why not zip across to Omega120's site and download them yourself? There is also quite a useful machine code tutorial on the site which should be a good starting step for any of you budding homebrewers out there!
